Welcome message from the Year Leader

As we begin this important year, I see our Year 7 students showing bravery and resilience in managing their transition to Secondary School. I am looking forward to working together to support them; encouraging them to build relationships with a wide network of peers, experiencing new interests through their extra-curricular pathways and demonstrating a courageous and curious attitude in all of their lessons.

Term 1 highlights

  • Tutor time for Year 7 is busy with fun activities and challenges for students to get to know their peers; creating their tutor display boards, celebrating cultural festivals and experiencing mini House competitions.
  • In their ACHIEVE lessons this term, students will be learning about creating, managing and developing positive relationships with their peers.
  • To mark World Mental Health Day, all students will be introduced to the school’s Wellbeing and Flourishing team. They’ll have the opportunity to communicate directly with, and ask questions to, the school counsellors.

Wellbeing

The Wellbeing Lead for Middle School, Stuart Durham, is focused on enhancing student support this academic year. His role involves developing and refining activities for tutor time and collaborating with Year Leaders and Tutors to deliver effective pastoral care.

Middle School students will continue using Komodo, our digital wellbeing platform, during tutor time. Through fortnightly surveys, every student has the opportunity to share concerns, offer feedback, and reflect on their wellbeing.

Additionally, students can access our professional counselling service, led by Prakash Ravindran, the school's Wellbeing and Flourishing Lead, along with counsellors Chen Ying Lee and Julia Lartey. This valuable service offers professional support to students facing emotional or social challenges.

Feedback and suggestions

In order to foster a culture of open communication, we encourage parents to share their thoughts and suggestions using this link for parent feedback.
