    Important Reminders

    • Uniform-please ensure children remember their change of uniform after morning EPAs if on a non P.E day.
    • Please ensure footwear is plain white or plain black in colour.
    • On days when students have PE lessons, they may come to school wearing their PE kits, and remain in them all day.
    • Please check the uniform list for more information.
    • As you will be aware children in Year 5 are trialling using iPads as 1:1 devices. We have had a great couple of weeks introducing and immersing the children in how we can use these to enhance our learning. Here you will find a set of slides we went through with the children on how to look after your iPad. We are sharing these with you so you can echo the same message at home. Should you wish to refer to these slides in the future, you will find them here on MSP.

    Learning Spotlight

The Alice Smith School Juniors curriculum is undergoing an exciting transformation!

    • We're moving towards a concept-based inquiry approach for Science, History, Geography & DT.
    • Students will delve deeper into big ideas and develop transferable skills by asking questions, exploring local contexts, and making connections across different subjects.
    • This innovative approach will empower them to become independent learners and "spark courageous exploration to inspire a better world."

We are beginning a new unit focused on understanding what is essential for survival in different environments. Students will research historical expeditions to learn how explorers used specific materials to endure challenging conditions. This study will require students to explain and justify their choices, promoting critical thinking and practical application of their knowledge. We look forward to the innovative ideas your children will develop during this educational journey!
