KLASS U11 Girls A 20 - 20 GIS U11 Girls A
KLASS U11 Girls B 10 - 26 GIS U11 Girls B
The U11 Girls basketball teams played with determination against Gardens International School. The A team got off to a slow start but managed to narrow the gap after a strong start from GIS. Alice Smith girls were very supportive of one another, showing great team spirit. A super exciting A team match ended in a 20-20 draw with the KLASS Lions scoring with seconds to go to equal the scores.
The players are growing more comfortable with the game and are motivated to improve for the next match. Most importantly, everyone had fun and enjoyed the experience.
KLASS U9 A Boys 1 - 1 SK SHAS U9 A Boys
The U9 Boys Football team ran out for their first match of the school year. The crowd was buzzing with excitement and the nerves were eminent. The match was well poised at 1-1 when bad weather put a halt to play. Both teams demonstrated great promise.
In the midst of a vibrant and packed streamy crowd all excitedly loaded into the Camp 5 Jumpa branch, the Alice Smith Climbing team reached new heights of school representation and climbing jubilation. Each climber approached the 30 expertly designed routes with enthusiasm, dynamism and resilience. They were tested by a range of different climbing challenges both technical and psychological. The extraordinary factor that underpins such a competition, is that the Primary competitors as young as Year 3 were climbing the same routes that U19 climbers would face later in the day, age is just a number to our fearless climbers. They understand at a deeper level that Climbing is the ultimate personal testing ground and step towards that maelstrom of challenge with nothing but positive intent. It is you against the wall and that is the purest of motivators.
Both Mr A and Coach Afif could not be prouder of the young aspiring athletes as they tested themselves on the competitive stage. The successes between team members were celebrated whilst the challenges were recognised, supported and embraced. Some recieved medals, some reached new heights and all made Alice Smith School proud!
